Tip & split bill
Calculate a tip and divide the total evenly.
How this works
Tip = entered bill × tip rate, rounded to cents. Total is split into cent-exact shares, with at most a one-cent difference between people.
Example
Using the example inputs, average share per person is $50.15.
- Bill before tip
- 85 USD
- Tip rate
- 18 %
- Number of people
- 2 people
- Average share per person
- $50.15
The tip applies to the entire entered bill. Enter a pre-tax amount instead if that is your preferred tipping basis.
Scope and assumptions
Equal splits only; no service-charge detection or local tipping rules. Check your bill for an existing gratuity.
