Scientific calculator
Use individual operations or a safe scientific expression with parentheses.
How this works
Single operations retain their original behavior. Expression mode applies conventional precedence, right-associative powers and parentheses. −2^2 means −(2²); use (−2)^2 to square a negative base.
Example
Using the example inputs, calculated value is 5.
- Operation
- Square root
- x
- 25
- y (used for powers)
- 2
- Calculation mode
- Single operation
- Expression
- sqrt(25) + 2^3
- Expression angle unit
- Degrees
- Calculated value
- 5
Trigonometric inputs use degrees.
Scope and assumptions
Real numbers only. No variables, implicit multiplication, symbolic algebra, JavaScript execution or user-defined functions. Up to 500 characters, 200 tokens and 30 nested parentheses; expression angles are configurable, legacy single-operation angles remain degrees.
