Debt avalanche planner
Pay fixed minimums on every debt, then apply remaining monthly budget to the highest annual rate.
How this works
Each month, add interest to each outstanding balance using its annual percentage rate/1200. Pay each debt’s fixed dollar minimum, capped at its balance, then direct the remaining monthly budget to debts in descending rate order. Paid-off minimums become available within the same fixed total budget. Repeat until all balances are paid and sum the interest charged.
Example
The illustration may use different inputs from the reproducible default inputs listed below.
The default minimums total $90 + $100 + $60 = $250, leaving $250 of the $500 budget for additional payments before any final-balance adjustments. The additional amount goes first to the 20% debt, then 12%, then 8%. With all reset-default inputs, months until debt-free: 23.

Scope and assumptions
Balances, rates and minimum-payment lists must correspond in order, with at most 100 debts; the budget must cover the initial minimums. Rates and dollar minimums stay fixed. No new borrowing, fees, changing minimum-payment formulas or promotional rates are modeled. A result beyond 1,200 months is rejected; this is not personalized debt advice.
