Sales commission

Multiply commissionable sales by a flat commission rate and add base pay.

How this works

Commission = commissionable sales × commission percentage/100. Gross compensation = commission + base pay. Sales and base pay must cover the same pay period.

Example

The illustration may use different inputs from the reproducible default inputs listed below.

The defaults give $50,000 × 5/100 = $2,500 commission. Add $2,000 base pay to reach $4,500 gross compensation. With all reset-default inputs, gross compensation: $4,500.

Commissionable sales ($)
50000
Commission rate (%)

Base pay for this period ($)

Gross compensation
$4,500

Scope and assumptions

Uses one flat commission rate. Taxes, deductions, tiered rates, thresholds, refunds, draw recovery and clawbacks are not modeled unless already reflected in your inputs. The result is gross compensation, not take-home pay or a payroll calculation.
